Education and Internships

Brook Farm Project offers opportunities in the form of: Field Trips, Farm Tours, Basic Internships, College Credit Internships, Research Projects, Volunteering

Brook Farm Project has an established relationship with SUNY New Paltz for all types of academic endeavors. Professors from all disciplines are encouraged to bring their classes to the farm. We provide guided tours, as well as help you to understand the connection between your particular area of study, sustainable agriculture, and farming and community.

 Classroom to Farm Trips

To schedule a field trip to Brook Farm, you may contact us via email or phone. Visit the Contact Page to reach us and set up a mutually beneficial time for you and your students to see a working sustainable farm. Farm classes range from 1-2 hours depending on your student/professor availability.

SUNY New Paltz Environmental Studies Minor

The Spring semester of 2006 launched a new Environmental Studies Minor. An eclectic range of classes will explore the range and severity of the environmental problems facing us: the social, political, cultural and economic forces that have contributed to these problems; the basic scientific and quantitative tools needed to understand these problems; and the range of potential solutions to these problems. The field component/service work required for this minor can be fulfilled at Brook Farm.

College Thesis Program

Work with the Farm to create a project for your college thesis.  Spend time volunteering on the farm.  Work with your professors, the farm manager, and/or mission leader to discover how you might design and carry out a project.  Earn credit for learning about how nature works to provide for us and how you can help restore balance to the planet.
